Flying Black Brant $1,200

First ever lifesize flying bird by Capriola. 23" long, 36" wingtip to wingtip. Carved from northern white cedar and painted in oils in 2025. The body is hollow carved and mounted on a metal rod connected to a circular floor base. The wings are carved and mounted to the body with brass hinges for removal and transport to the field. Comes complete with a custom box for transport. Branded, signed and dated by the carver.

The 2024 drake widgeon is carved by Capriola from northern white cedar and is hollowed and painted in oils. Comb painting and blending complement this stylish decoy. Rigged with keel weight and leather tab for anchor line attachment; signed and dated by the maker.

Drake Scaup $250 SOLD

Carved from redwood, hollowed and painted in oils by Capriola sometime in the late 1980's. Strong comb painting with fine patina from honest wear. From the makers rig of approximately 120 diving duck decoys deployed hunting Humboldt Bay and the lagoons of the North Coast of California.

Drake Canvasback $1,250

This lifesize drake canvasback by Capriola was completed late in 2025 and features a first-ever backdrop painted by the artist. The piece features detailed carving from the bill to the tail. Comb painting and blending complement this fine work of art. The bird is in white cedar and oils, and the skyscape is oil on masonite. Signed and dated by the maker.

2025 Brant carved by Capriola, influenced by Humboldt Bay California makers. Carved from northern white cedar and painted in oils. Hardwood dowel bill is inset the entire length of the head. The body is hollow carved and fitted with weight and leather thongs for anchors fore and aft. Branded, signed and dated by the carver.

Hen Canvasback $250

The hen canvasback is carved by Capriola from Port Orford cedar and is hollowed and painted in oils. Originally carved in 1994, the bird was completely stripped and repainted in 2024 by the maker. Body contours are carved in along with detailed carving of the speculum, wingtips and tail. Comb painting and blending complement this fine decoy from the makers hunting rig. Natural finish bottom branded and signed by the maker. Matching drake available.

These decoys from Capriola's personal hunting rig were made in 1993 from old-growth redwood, hollowed and painted in oils. Natural finish on the bottoms highlight the wood grain of the redwood bodies and oak keels. Branded, signed and dated by the maker.

Scaup Pair $400

This pair of scaup is from Capriola's personal hunting rig (2017). Carved from old-growth redwood, hollowed, and painted in oils. Chip-carved heads and subtle blending add appeal to these decoys influenced by decoys of the last century. Weight inset in bottom board. Branded, signed and dated by the maker.

Black Brant $275

Carved by Capriola in 2025 after early Falk Family decoys of Humboldt Bay California. Solid old-growth redwood with head inset into body. Dowel inset for bill strength. Lead strap and leather thongs complete this functional and traditional design.

Demonstration bird by Capriola from mentoring program sponsored by the Pacific Flyway Decoy Association (2025). High density cork with cedar bottom board and head. Fitted with an oak keel. Branded and signed by the maker.
