Herring Gull

 

This decoy was made in 1996 from redwood planks salvaged from a damaged tidegate on Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Loleta California.  The original plank surface with barnacle scars has been preserved on the bottom of this work.  The decoy is hollow and painted in oil paints.  Keel is made of rock maple and is pinned with dowels.  Original paint and in unused condition. 18" overall length    $450
