Robert Capriola Decoys

Drake Canvasback

Drake Canvasback in high-density cork and old-growth redwood. Carved in the style of upper Chesapeake Bay. This decoy was developed as a prototype for the decoys made by Capriola's six student carvers during the summer of 2014 for the National Endowment for the Arts grant to the Ward Museum's "Carving out New Decoy Carvers" educational program. The decoys from all six students were taken back to the Chesapeake Challenge competition at the Ward Museum in Salisbury Maryland in October of 2014 and one of the students took second place in the open competition with his class bird.
